Sutton Swim School - World’s Largest Swim Lesson

On June 18th, 2013, Sutton Swim School joined thousands of kids around the globe participating in the World’s Largest Swim Lesson to spread the message that ‘swim lessons save lives.’

Tragically, drowning remains the second leading cause of unintended, injury related death of children under 14 and a leading cause of death for children ages 1-5. Research shows participation in formal swimming lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by 88% among children aged 1 to 4, yet many kids, along with the adults supervising those kids, do not receive formal swimming or water safety training. Regardless of what swim school they may be taught at, swim lessons for all ages serve as the primary means of preventing these unnecessary tragedies. Following the World’s Largest Swim Lesson, all participants gathered outside to enjoy the events and activities of Sutton’s First Annual Safety Fair.
