Warrior Code Taekwon-Do

Teaching courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit

Staff Report

Warrior Code Taekwon-Do is operated by head instructors Steven LeGrow and Ha Tang. It is focussed on teaching the original and traditional style of Taekwon-Do (which is practiced in over 120 countries) with a modern and realistic approach. Taekwon-Do is the art of self-defence using scientific principles to elevate one’s physical ability by enhancing strength, speed, balance, flexibility, and power

The unique benefits one would receive from training at Warrior code is the wealth of knowledge and experience offered by its instructors. Steven LeGrow, who has moved to San Jose from Canada, has been training Taekwon- Do for 30 years and has been an instructor for over 25 years. He has had a successful competitive career, representing Canada on the global stage on numerous occasions and winning 6 medals at five different World Championships. Aside from his tournament successes, Mr. LeGrow has travelled around the world to give seminars across Canada, USA, Germany, and Australia. He continues to train and broaden his Taekwon-Do knowledge by attending International Instructor Courses sanctioned by the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF).

Ha Tang was born in Vietnam but became a resident of New York, NY at the early age of two years old. Ms. Tang has been training in Taekwon-Do for over 15 years and has achieved the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt. In 2015, Ms. Tang is a nurse in the Bay area and is a firm believer in the benefits and qualities that Taekwon-Do promotes in children and adults and decided to open Warrior Code with her husband (LeGrow).

At Warrior Code, there is a spacious training facility. They can accommodate class sizes up to 40 people per class. Classes are most often taught by one of the head instructors (LeGrow or Tang) and assisted by another instructor to ensure every student is receiving quality training and adequate personal attention. Classes run from Monday to Friday from 4pm to 9pm to accommodate a wide range of sessions focussing on different age groups and skill levels. Aside from the physical aspect of Taekwon- Do, Warrior Code also teaches the virtuous and humanitarian values of a martial artist. This is more important than simply creating a proficient athlete. Warrior Code inspires children to learn and live by the tenets of Taekwon- Do (our moral code) which is: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. Teaching students these character attributes coupled with enriching their physical ability is the true goal of Warrior Code. Students will overcome physical obstacles and will build focus and confidence through rigorous physical and mental conditioning. An ideal student will not only have a healthier lifestyle but will be more respectable and confident in all aspects of their life.

All instructors at Warrior Code are certified under the ITF and their certifications can be validated online or by contacting the International Taekwon- Do Federation headquarters in Benidorm, Spain. The student mix is composed of a wide range of ethnicities and cultural backgrounds that no student will feel like an outsider.

In closing, a student at Warrior Code will embark on a fun and fulfilling journey that will enrich their lives in ways they could have only have imagined. By creating healthier bodies and sharper minds, Warrior Code practitioners will learn what they are really capable of achieving through hard work and dedication.
