Aditya Dasgupta completed his PhD in the Department of Government at Harvard in May 2016. His book project, The Curse of Strong Roots: Pathways of Dominant Party Collapse and Resilience in India, investigates why some dominant parties collapse while others remain competitive after democratization, highlighting the role of an "organizational resource curse." For additional information, visit the  IIS website.
