Spark Your Imagination With Galileo

Spark Your Imagination With Galileo
Summertime is special for kids—those precious few months when school is out, the days are long, the weather’s warm, busy schedules lighten up and young minds are relaxed and free for exploration. But for parents, it can be a struggle to fill those weeks with meaningful activities.

Why not take the opportunity to channel those free minds into new and exciting directions that develop and foster discovery, creativity and learning?

Galileo is more than just a summer camp. It engages kids in transformative, mind-blowing and life-changing fun.

Drawing from the innovation process developed by the Institute of Design at Stanford, Galileo is an evolving series of imagination-sparking programs for kids from pre-K through 8th grade. And during all of this creative, fearless fun, something powerful happens—kids start to see themselves differently—they begin to think of themselves as innovators, with the vision and confidence to change the world. Camps are designed for a wide range of ages.

Camp Galileo (pre-K to 5th grade) combines art, science and outdoor activities around weekly themes. Each day campers participate in a carefully integrated mix of activities calibrated for their specific age group. They learn the power of collaboration and how to embrace rather than fear mistakes. Camp Galileo’s themes include: Galileo Rocks, Music Inspired Art and Instrument Engineering; Destination San Francisco, Art and Engineering in the City by the Bay; Galileo Makers, DIY Art and Real-World Inventions and Mount Everest Expedition, Himalayan Art and the Science of Scaling Mountains. Camp Galileo is available at 25 locations throughout the Bay Area.

With 15 locations in the Bay Area, Galileo Summer Quest (5th to 8th grade) gives growing innovators the opportunity to take the next step. Surrounded by exceptional instructors and professional tools and materials, campers get to pick a passion and go deep exploring it. Whether making an original movie, constructing a go-kart or cooking up a signature dish, campers leverage the innovation process and spend an entire week realizing their personal vision. Themes include Digital Filmmaking, Digital Photography, Fashion Design, Culinary Arts, Video Game Design, Website Design and Go-Kart building.
