September 16, 2021/Brooklyn, NY— BAMkids fall 2021 exciting new season kicks off with the free outdoor event BAMkids Family Day, presented in collaboration with Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and continues with BAMkids Virtual Workshops in October, inviting families to explore the artistic process more deeply through virtual classes that can be enjoyed from home.

The exciting new season celebrates community resilience and the power of the arts through exciting events that encourage audiences to grow, learn, and explore together. Presented from September through December, the season will safely welcome back BAMkids audiences with a mix of in-person, virtual, and outdoor events for families with children ages 3 to 13. to choose their adventure. For complete information on tickets and reservations, visit BAM.org/Kids.

Join BAMkids for a free all-day outdoor festival offering an array of live music and performances, interactive workshops, and showcases of local talent in celebration of community resilience and the power of the arts. Featuring high energy musical performances by Lucy Kalantari & the Jazz Cats, Nadia Dieudonné and Feet of Rhythm Kids, Brooklyn United Music and Arts, and Brown Rice Family; interactive workshops Hula Nation Inc. and Dancewave’s Moving Together: Bollywood with Pooja Uberoi; and inspiring poetry shares by teen artists involved in BAM’s Arts & Justice program. The festivities are emceed by BAM teaching artists Kimani Fowlin and Farai Malianga.

A fun-filled virtual story-making workshop with BAM Education teaching artist Mel House designed to encourage creative thinking and cultural exchange. After experiencing theater-based warm-ups and activities, attendees will collaborate to improvise from scratch. Tickets go on sale on Tue, Sep 21.

Creating Animation Workshop

In collaboration with BRIC

Tickets $5                                                                                                      Ages 8+

In this filmmaking workshop with BRIC, participants learn to create short animations using a phone or tablet app to animate objects from around their home. App (free) information will be provided before the workshop. Tickets go on sale on Tue, Sep 21.
