Tabard Theatre announces singer-songwriter Ren Geisick on Sunday, July 17 at 7pm. After playing several intimate duo shows at the venue with just Geisick and her piano player Jon Dryden, she is thrilled to be bringing her full band to the Tabard stage next month. The show will be available both in-person and livestreamed. For those unable to experience the concert live, the high-quality multi-camera recording will also be available On-Demand for two weeks following the show. Single tickets for each show are $25 for General Admission, $23 for Seniors, $10 for Students and $35 for reserved Cabaret seating. Proof of vaccination is required for in-person patrons. Vaccine cards will be checked at the door. Masking is encouraged but not required.

Americana singer-songwriter Ren Geisick sings her own work, flowing seamlessly between carefree country shuffle, bluesy jazz, and heartfelt ballads. While her music is not neatly confined to a single genre, what remains consistent throughout is her intimate lyrical delivery and vibrant energy. Ren Geisick is returning to the Tabard Theatre, this time with her full band including Chris Motter (up from Los Angeles) on guitar, Jeff Goodkind on keyboard, William Bohrer on bass, and Jim Kassis on drums.  

Andrew Gilbert of the San Jose Mercury News called Geisick  “an uncommonly incisive song stylist,” and Content Magazine described her as “Equally influenced by Bob Dylan and Nina Simone, her music flows seamlessly, from the soulful delivery of a jazz ballad to the carefree lilt of an American folk song.” 

Tabard Theatre (formerly Theatre on San Pedro Square) — The Destination for Arts Discovery —  is located in the heart of historic San Pedro Square in downtown San Jose amid a bustling restaurant district.  This intimate and unique venue brings a touch of Manhattan to the South Bay with its rustic yet edgy feel. Old brick walls, plush leather seats, antique wood plank floors, sweeping red velvet drapes and a 35-foot mahogany bar create a casual cabaret atmosphere. The three-quarter round cabaret stage— described by artists as “a room that feels big and small at the same time” — is the perfect setting for live music and theatre.
