Elizabeth Collard was raised to value education, and it was her deep appreciation for the gift of knowledge that motivated her to write children’s books. Her debut book “We are all the same, I think” spreads a powerful message of tolerance and promotes equality for all. Throughout the story, Collard asks readers to consider how humans are really the same. “We are all living, breathing human beings that can look to each other as equals, and not feel as if we need to be separated into categories,” Collard said.

Exploring what lies beneath the surface of one’s skin, beliefs, religion, etc., Collard illustrates how all people possess commonalities. Challenging hearts and minds, Collard aims to expose how one’s perception can breed inequality. “By acknowledging our shared humanity, we remove the veil of perceived differences and allow our children to see that we are all equal,” Collard said.
