Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose invites families to celebrate the season with three special events on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1. From Halloween costumes and dancing to sensory-friendly play and Día de los Muertos traditions, families can explore, create, and celebrate together at the Purple Museum.

WHAT: Halloween at the Purple Museum
Saturday, October 31 | 9:30 am - 4:30 pm

Families can enjoy a festive day of Halloween fun featuring a costume spotlight, Glow Bones activity, Monster Mash Dance Zone, fall art activities, and more. Activities are included with Museum admission.

Play Your Way: Halloween
Saturday, October 31 | 5:00 - 8:00 pm

Designed for children with autism ages 2 - 15 and their families, this special evening features Halloween-themed sensory activities, hands-on play, and a treat trail. Limited attendance, reduced noise, and fewer bright lights help create a more comfortable Museum experience.

Día de los Muertos
Sunday, November 1 | 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Families are invited to honor departed ancestors and loved ones through this joyful cultural celebration featuring traditional Aztec dancing, sand painting, sugar skull activities, monarch butterfly mask-making, giant skeleton puppets, and lively Calacas processions led by Teatro Familia Aztlán.
